When it comes to bringing your Motorhome, Campervan or Caravan in for service or repairs one of our experienced technicians will give you a full explanation of the work to be carried out, and on collection will, demonstrate with a guided tour of your van all work carried out out followed by a visual inspection. This means that when you leave you can get straight into the holiday spirit.
To ensure that your Motorhome gives you years of trouble free Holidaying we would suggest that you have it serviced once a year. At AEG Motorhomes we are able to carry out both the engine service and the Habitation service on all makes of Motorhomes Campervans & Caravans.
Both Services can normally be carried out in one day saving you time and hassle. We also can arrange a courtesy vehicle or a collection and delivery service
| It is recommended that the habitation area of your motorhome is inspected annually to ensure that it is maintained in tip-top condition. All Electric offer a comprehensive annual service, which includes pressurising the gas system to ensure it is leak-free and carrying out a damp test to check for any water ingress. This can even be carried out while you wait. Another recommended service is to have your motorhome treated with underbody and cavity protection to prevent any corrosion taking hold. This treatment is ideal for protecting your new or used motorhome. The process involves spraying the underside of the vehicle with Dinitrol, a durable, tough and water-repellent under sealing product, which forms an impenetrable barrier to road debris and salt. As you would expect, there is a dedicated workshop bay allocated specifically for this treatment. Prices are dependent on the size and we would be delighted to quote on an individual vehicle. Now is the time you need to prepare your motorhome for use or storage during the colder months. The most important consideration is protection against frost, draining down the water system. Frost damage is not covered by warranties so this is a serious issue. ![]() |

Motorhome, Campervan & Caravan Damp Test![]() It's also important that the person doing the damp check has been properly trained in terms of where to look and how to avoid false readings. As well as testing for damp it's worth checking around all seams for evidence of the mastic drying out. Pay particular attention to horizontal seams such as awning rails, window hangars, roof to body seams and body to body seams. Other known trouble spots include window frame seals, awning channel rails, and grab handles (are they still solidly attached?). External light fittings such as repeater lights and awning lights can also be a source of water ingress. These fittings are normally fed from behind via a sealed hole in the bodywork and sit on a neoprene gasket. If the fitting or gasket appear loose or in poor condition this could be sign of trouble. Once damp has been found it's important to find the source of the leak and to deal with it quickly before any more harm is done. |
Most motorhomes and campervans require an MOT Test ever 12 months once the vehicle is three years old. This is usually a Class IV test. If you use your vehicle for carrying any goods then the vehicle is subject to different legislation and is probably due an MOT after one year.
We offer two services for customers whose vehicles are due an MOT.
Firstly, our workshop is able to offer a comprehensive Pre MOT Inspection Service to minimise the disappointment of an MOT failure and offer a full itemised estimation of work required for an MOT pass.
Secondly, we offer the full MOT test Service. With MOT testing facilitywithin our group, many customers find it easier to have us arrange their MOT test whilst their vehicle is with us for its annual motorhome inspection rather than arranging separate bookings with multiple garages.
We offer services that covers booking the appointment, delivery and collection of your vehicle from and to the MOT and service facility and vehicle cleaning and valeting.
